Rifles in ‘Nam is the fourth installment in the RIFLES series, this time set in the intense battlegrounds of the Vietnam War.

The game includes missions on the jungle and in urban areas, based on the usual linear stripes, and a new map designed to better represent the Tunnel Rats missions.

Unique elements of the Vietnam war like grenade launchers, claymore mines have been added. Helicopter operations are also present: helicopters are mainly introduced to enter or leave the map in the Landing Zones rather than being used as (powerful) attack units – the game is still focused on the infantry role.

The Campaign rules make now possible to play a complete Tour of Duty, one year of service in Vietnam: each campaign game turn, representing one week, you will determine the assignment to your unit and/or the events occurring. The experience of your squad will improve but also their Fatigue, a new attribute introduced to represents the overall  stress and physical exhaustion of your soldiers.

The game contains

  • 105 1″-square die-cut counters
  • 3 distinct maps, depicting jungles, VC tunnel complexes, and cityscapes
  • Army Sheets for the U.S. Marines, Army, North Vietnamese and Viet Cong.
  • 12 missions and a campaign, each with its own unique challenges
  • Player Aid cards
  • A Rule Book and Scenario Book

Rifles in the ‘Nam is available as boxed game here in the publisher site, and as PnP here on Wargame Vault.
